Our Space
Chapman Law is located in Barrie, Ontario, in a charming historic property known as The Dyment House. What brings you through our doors may be one of the most trying times in your life. We work hard to provide a comfortable space because we want you to feel at home with us while we work through your legal issues.

History of the Dyment House
The Dyment House, or Maplehurst as it is sometimes called, was built in 1883 by Nathanial Dyment for his son Simon and Simon’s wife, Annie. The home stayed in the Dyment family’s hands until 1967. We love the way the property has been described by a Walking Tour Downtown West booklet:
“This fashionable dwelling has impressive bracketing at the eaves, a semi-circular ornament capping the stacked low window, a sunburst gable decoration, and attractive bargeboard. The sweeping verandah and second-storey, closed porch are twentieth century replacements of the originals. The grey paint hides the red brick and contrasting buff brick accents.”
Meeting Rooms Available
If you’re looking for a comfortable and professional meeting space or space to host a mediation or examinations for discovery, we have three spaces for rent in our offices here in Barrie. Our rooms are perfectly appointed for meetings, mediation, and events, and you and your guests will enjoy the beauty and charm of our historic building. The location is easily accessible and there’s plenty of parking on site.
