Meet Amanda
Amanda Chapman is an experienced lawyer, mediator and workplace investigator. She had the privilege of honing her skills as an associate lawyer with Craig Boswell McDermot. In 2011 Amanda took the opportunity to create this firm, Chapman Law. Amanda has a broad practice which encompasses employment law, insurance litigation, personal injury litigation, and also estate and family law. Amanda’s practice areas allow her to advise clients in various areas and when those areas intersect Amanda has the experience needed to advise on both. Amanda strives to make life easier for her clients by listening and solving issues as quickly and efficiently as possible.
In 2018, through The Law Foundation of Ontario, Amanda had the opportunity to develop the Summary Legal Counsel Project, of which she is also a roster lawyer. The SLC Project is a first of its kind and it offers the opportunity for unrepresented parties to retain experienced family lawyers at a highly discounted rate. Lawyers agree to provide services and assist individual parties on the day their matter is scheduled and to then appear in court with those individual parties. Addressing Access to Justice is such an important issue and the program has is gaining momentum, in 2020 it expanded into Toronto and interest continues to grow across the province. Amanda also sits on the Board of Directors for Elizabeth Fry Society of Simcoe Muskoka, she is sitting member of the Toy Tea (Barrie), she is also a Gal That Gives (Barrie) and is dedicated to bettering our community.
